The Fume Sleeve Hammer from Glob Ross embodies the seamless balance between craftsmanship and alchemy. This hand-blown dry hammer uses a combination of silver and gold fuming, producing subtle iridescent effects that shift beautifully under different lighting conditions. Each rotation reveals new undertones of lavender, mint, and soft gold, enhanced by the artist’s deliberate color layering.
Under UV or CFL lighting, the hammer transforms—glowing with spectral brilliance that brings out the hidden energy of the Secret White, Sour Patch, and Parallax color palettes. This reactive design makes it as captivating in a dark room as it is in daylight, changing mood and tone with every environment.
At 6.5 inches in height, the Fume Sleeve Hammer offers a sturdy, ergonomic grip that feels natural in the hand. The classic hammer profile provides excellent balance, while the bowl’s depth ensures a smooth, even airflow on every pull. It’s not only a pleasure to use but also a display-worthy example of modern fume artistry.
Glob Ross’s attention to gradient, transparency, and light play gives this piece a living quality — one that evolves as it’s held, lit, and admired. No two hammers are ever exactly alike, making each one a true one-of-one creation within the artist’s evolving fume series.
With its UV-reactive shimmer and timeless silhouette, the Fume Sleeve Hammer is both a functional tool and a luminous centerpiece for any glass collection.

My journey into glass art began in the summer of 2012, with a two day beginner pipe making class. I bought my first torch and kiln the next summer, working outside in my backyard practicing the techniques I had learned. After moving to Bozeman, Montana in 2014, I quickly found a community of other glass artists to create and learn with. Most of what I know has been self taught through observation. I blend traditional and modern techniques to create uniquely classic pieces. Most recently I've been working on a layered marble swirl patterning. I also make my own custom layered wondertubes.
