Who are you?

When did you first get started in this industry?

I first got started in 2010 working for company in Fresno California. I was hired right out of college because of my 3-1/2 years of soft glass experience. Started at the bottom and moved to the lead Glassblower in 6 months. Wanted to build with the company but we didn’t see eye to eye on company direction and the pay scale. So we parted ways and I started my own company called SlugWorth Glass. Best decision I ever made because the personal freedom let me be a stay at home dad and move to Colorado. Which has always been a dream of mine.

What New Innovations Have You Been Working On?

I’m always constantly adding new designs to my line up. I design based on how the market is doing. Some years people use more flower and others more concentrates. Being able to make anything inside a shop allows me to grow my designs new or old to always stay above the comp.

How Do You See the Future of This Industry Going, and Do You Have Any Advice for Those Trying to Break Into It?

It is a very difficult time in our industry and it is hard to say where it will go. However a winners mindset and basic understanding of the ups and downs in the market allow me to stay in business. To anyone trying to get into this industry I say don’t quit your day job. Being in the game for almost 20 years I have built a solid reputation of being a stand up company, willing to always go above and beyond for my clients. If you dream it you can do it just don’t do it half fast and always communicate with your customers.

Any Fun Facts About Your Work Habits or Creative Process?

I always think production so when designing new or old designs I always try and incorporate as many components into multiple designs. This increases productivity for me and can allow me to do it all myself with no extra help. Being able to have prep ready to go can also can speed up the customs list, limiting wait times for orders.
