Joshua Kitchen started his glass journey in 1999, when a serendipitous trade with a local band afforded him access to some basic equipment. Through trial and error, and a couple friends who let him watch them melt, he learned various techniques and developed styles which he uses to create. "I enjoy bringing ideas that I see in my head to life in this physical medium. It's challenging in ways that I find parallel to life experiences. Facing myself and overcoming perceived limitations, fears, and patterns has been my favorite part of this journey."
Joshua resides in Brevard, NC, not far from where he grew up. Family, cats, chickens, glass, and music are core components to his happiness.
