Rob Morrison glass

I moved to Eugene Oregon in 1994 after study biochemistry in Pennsylvania. A chance meeting at Oregon Country fair with a marble marker who told me about Wale Apparatus, a scientific supply company that sold lamp working kits. I ordered a torch kit and Homer Hoyt’s book. I successfully made my first glass pipes in August of 1995.

I took an 8 year break but returned in 2008. During this time the community and available knowledge had grown substantially. I started taking classes and making marbles. In 2010, I met Paul Stankard who challenged me to “express an idea in glass”. I spent the next 7 months learning how to sculpt and bring to life my first sculpture, a glass diorama of Prometheus Bound.

During this period, I stated taking classes at the local community college in 3d sculpture, figure drawing and art history.
In the summer of 2012, I made my first muppet functionals. The successful marketing of Jim Henson’s muppets are a huge factor in the popularity I obtained from making them. I am grateful that I could translate them into glass for people to enjoy.

In 2017, I started making farm animals. All of these designs come from my own head. I celebrate the difference in each one rather than adhering to the strict guidelines of a muppet. The colors, shapes, stories I can tell with the animals is limitless and more liberating.

Cow Head Rig by Rob Morrison Glass is a compact character piece packed with personality and detailed flame-work. Standing approximately 5 inches tall, the rig takes the form of an expressive cow head with exaggerated sculpted features, including large blue horns, oversized ears, a pink snout, buck teeth, and a curled tongue.
The body features multiple layered colors throughout, creating a mottled mix of earthy metallic tones, purple accents, red spotting, and darker details. These layered colors give the surface a textured, almost hide-like appearance while making the sculptural facial features stand out.
One of the most distinctive details is the opal UV eye, which adds another layer of visual interest and gives the character an especially animated look. The mismatched, expressive eyes and heavy brows give the cow a mischievous personality that makes the piece feel as much like functional sculpture as glassware.
Functionally, the Cow Head Rig is built around a 10mm connection and features a gill perc within the compact body. The small scale keeps the design tight while allowing the sculpted cow form to remain the clear focal point.
With its layered color work, UV opal detail, exaggerated expression, and unusual cow-head design, this Rob Morrison Glass piece is a distinctive one-of-a-kind style rig for collectors who want something playful and highly character-driven.
Use for Legal Dry Herbs or Concentrates Only.
Glass attachment/topper only.
Electronic device/base is not included or sold with this product
